Nancy asks…

whats a good halibut recipe that makes it not bland and is kind of asian.?

Any help for a recipe of this sort with halibut?
Yeah so i need an answer kinda fast, as it is almost time to cook dinner.

andre1 answers:

You can put Halibut Fish in a clear rectangular or square baking dish if you have one and do the following:

Put the fish in the baking dish , add some lemon pepper seasoning, garlic seasoning on the fish on both sides, drizzle some soy sauce over the fish...then add some 3-4 mini squares of butter and drizzle the fish with some nice ammount of Olive Oil and steam it in the microwave.. For like 3-5 mintes..(microwaves vary) so be sure to check on the fish.. To make sure its not too soggy or too hard...

We do it all the time.. And wrap the fish in Iceberg Lettuce...we call it our asian Halibut meal.. :)

No need for rice or vermichelli noodles..

Thomas asks…

How many minutes should I sear my 8oz Alaskan Halibut fillet per side on medium heat?

I am preparing a halibut fillet and was wondering since it's an 8 ounce fillet, how many minutes should I pan sear it on each side?

andre1 answers:

It depends on how well you want it cooked and how thick it is. For a medium doneness(which I recommend), You cook it 4 minutes per inch of thickness of the fillet. If you would like it more done, just add a minute to each inch. Divide that time in half and that's how long you cook it in total. If it were me I would sear an inch thick fillet for about a minute per side then finish it in a 350 degree oven for about 3 minutes.
