My son and husband are going to dress up as a trout and a fisherman for our town Halloween parade. My husband already has plenty of fishing gear, but I cannot figure out how to turn my 3-yr-old into a trout.
I was thinking about getting two pieces of foam, painting them to look like the sides of a trout, and putting them on either side of my son, and then the top would be glued together and shaped like a nose. (So the trout would be vertical.) Or I've seen other Nemo-style fish I would try to copy or redecorate that he could wear around the middle that are held up with suspenders. http://www.mooncostumes.com/item/11149
Any other suggestions?
Last year, my high school did "Seussical" for our fall musical (I was the Cat in the Hat), and in one of the scenes there are a bunch of fish, when Jojo is taking his bath and is Thinking of Thinks. The director's grandkids were in the play too (they're between 3 and 8), and they did black pants and t-shirts with fish heads--like a fabricky fish with an open mouth that they would have their heads in, so you could see out. I'll try to find a picture.
*DRAT! I can't find one. I'm sorry!
